1. About Vantage3DLab
Vantage3DLab is an independent studio operated by Constantin Balan, trading as Vantage3DLab.
Vantage3DLab produces and supplies sculptural objects, display pieces, commissioned work, custom 3D-printed pieces and digital design files.
In these Terms, references to “Vantage3DLab”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean Constantin Balan trading as Vantage3DLab.

These Terms apply to your use of the Vantage3DLab website and to purchases, services and commissioned work supplied through Vantage3DLab.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any statutory consumer right or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Products and descriptions
We take reasonable care to describe products accurately and to provide relevant information about dimensions, materials, finish, condition and other significant characteristics.
Product photographs form an important part of the presentation of each piece. Differences between displays, lighting conditions and individually applied finishes may result in minor differences between photographs and the physical object.
Many Vantage3DLab pieces are individually prepared and finished. Minor variations in patina, tone, texture, surface character and hand-applied finishing are a natural part of this process.
These normal variations do not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty, materially not as described or otherwise does not meet the standards required by law.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, sculptures, busts, figurines and other display objects are intended for decorative use.
They are not represented as toys or as structural, load-bearing, safety-critical, medical, food-contact, automotive or other regulated components unless a product or project specification expressly states otherwise.
3. Prices and orders
Prices for standard products are shown on the website in the currency displayed by the store.
Applicable delivery charges and other costs will be shown before you complete an order where they can be calculated in advance.
For commissions, custom 3D printing or other work that cannot reasonably be sold at a standard listed price, we will provide a quotation before the customer commits to the project.
Submitting an enquiry or requesting a quotation does not create an obligation to purchase.
We may decline or cancel an order or project where:
-
there has been an obvious pricing, description or technical error;
-
the requested work is not reasonably feasible;
-
the supplied material cannot reasonably be used for the requested purpose;
-
the requested work would be unlawful, unsafe or inappropriate for us to undertake; or
-
circumstances outside our reasonable control mean we cannot fulfil the order as agreed.
Where payment has already been taken for an order that we cannot accept, the relevant payment will be refunded.
4. Commissions — start with what you have
A commission does not need to begin with a finished 3D model.
You may approach Vantage3DLab with a:
-
written description or idea;
-
photograph;
-
sketch or drawing;
-
reference image;
-
existing object;
-
digital model or 3D file; or
-
combination of these.
The material initially supplied is treated as the starting point for the project and does not necessarily represent the final production design.
Where development is required, we work with you to establish the intended form, proportions, approximate dimensions, relevant details, presentation and production requirements before committing the agreed design to physical manufacture.
The purpose of this development stage is to allow the intended result to be understood, reviewed and refined before physical printing or production begins.
5. Quotations and project scope
A quotation for commissioned or custom-produced work may specify:
-
the proposed scope of the project;
-
the intended physical result;
-
dimensions or scale;
-
design or digital modelling work included;
-
material and production method;
-
preparation and finishing requirements;
-
review and revision stages;
-
payment stages;
-
estimated production time; and
-
delivery arrangements.
The quotation and any subsequently agreed written changes form part of the project agreement.
Reasonable changes that fall within the agreed development scope may be made during the agreed review stage.
A substantial change in concept, dimensions, specification, complexity or direction after work has started may require additional work and a revised quotation.
We will explain any material change in scope or price before undertaking additional chargeable work.
6. Design development and revisions
Where digital design or modelling forms part of a commission, the project will normally include one or more opportunities to review the proposed direction before production.
The exact level of development and number or extent of revisions included will depend on the project and may be stated in the quotation.
The development process is collaborative, but it does not provide unlimited redesign.
Where requested changes materially depart from the agreed concept or require significant additional modelling or design work, we may provide a revised quotation before continuing.
7. Approval before production
Where a commission includes digital development, we will identify the stage at which your approval is required before physical production begins.
Approval confirms that the agreed design direction, proportions, dimensions and specified visible details are suitable to proceed to manufacture.
Where useful, approval may be based on renders, screenshots, digital models, reference images or other representations appropriate to the project.
Digital previews are intended to establish the design and agreed appearance. Physical materials, manufacturing processes, lighting and hand finishing mean that a finished physical piece may not reproduce a digital representation with absolute pixel-for-pixel or colour-for-colour identity.
3D printing and hand finishing are physical processes and may produce minor production or finishing variations.
Approval does not remove or reduce your statutory rights if the supplied item is faulty or materially does not conform to the agreed specification.
8. Starting design or other services during a cancellation period
Some commissions may include design, modelling, file preparation or another service before physical goods are produced.
Where consumer law gives you a cancellation period and you specifically ask us to begin providing that service before the cancellation period has ended, we may ask you to make an express request for work to begin early.
If you subsequently cancel after work has begun, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for work properly completed up to the point of cancellation where permitted by law and where the required information has been provided to you.
Where a service has been fully performed during the applicable cancellation period following the legally required request and acknowledgement, the right to cancel that completed service may be lost where permitted by law.
Any project-specific payment or cancellation arrangements will be explained before work begins.
9. Payments for commissioned work
Depending on the scale and nature of a project, commissioned work may require:
-
full payment before work begins;
-
an initial payment or deposit followed by a final payment; or
-
agreed staged payments.
The applicable arrangement will be stated in the quotation.
A payment described as a deposit is not automatically treated as forfeited simply because a project is cancelled.
Where a customer cancels a project after work has begun, any amount retained or charged will reflect work properly completed, costs reasonably incurred and the customer's applicable statutory rights.
10. Bespoke and personalised physical goods
Some Vantage3DLab commissions are created specifically to an individual customer's specification or are clearly personalised.
Where a physical item is genuinely made to your specification or clearly personalised, the normal statutory change-of-mind cancellation right applicable to standard distance-sale goods may not apply.
This may include, for example, a piece created to a customer's unique design, personalised subject, specific dimensions or individually agreed characteristics that make it unsuitable for normal resale.
We will not treat a normal standard product as bespoke merely because it is produced after an order has been placed.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected where bespoke or personalised goods are faulty, not as described or do not otherwise conform to the contract.
11. Customer-supplied designs, photographs, images and files
When you supply a photograph, drawing, image, logo, digital model, STL, 3MF or other file, design or reference material for reproduction, adaptation or use in a project, you confirm that you either:
-
own the relevant rights; or
-
have sufficient permission or licence for the use you are requesting.
You must not ask Vantage3DLab to reproduce, adapt or manufacture material in a way that infringes another person's copyright, design right, trade mark or other intellectual-property right.
If a digital model has been purchased or downloaded from a third party, you remain responsible for ensuring that its licence permits the reproduction you are requesting.
We may ask for clarification regarding permitted use or decline a project where ownership or licensing is unclear.
12. Suitability of customer-supplied 3D files
A digital model that appears correct on screen is not necessarily ready for physical manufacture.
Customer-supplied files may require checks or modifications relating to matters such as:
-
scale;
-
wall thickness;
-
geometry;
-
mesh integrity;
-
unsupported features;
-
assembly;
-
tolerances;
-
orientation; or
-
practical printability.
Where significant corrective or preparation work is required, we will explain this and may quote separately for the additional work.
A quotation based on a particular submitted file applies to that version of the file. Supplying a materially changed file later may require the project to be reassessed or requoted.
13. Intellectual property in commissioned development
Supplying a customer with a finished physical object does not automatically transfer ownership of the underlying digital design, working files or intellectual property.
Unless a quotation or written agreement expressly states otherwise, copyright and other intellectual-property rights in original digital modelling or design work created by Vantage3DLab remain with Vantage3DLab, subject to any pre-existing rights in customer-supplied or third-party material incorporated into the project.
Customer-supplied original files and materials remain the property of their existing rights holder.
Where a customer requires ownership of a final digital model, source file, exclusive rights or a particular commercial licence, this must be agreed expressly as part of the quotation or project agreement.
14. Digital products and design files
Some products supplied by Vantage3DLab may consist of downloadable digital files rather than physical goods.
The applicable file format, contents and relevant technical information will be stated on the product page.
Purchasing a digital product does not transfer copyright or ownership of the underlying design.
Unless the individual product listing expressly grants a different licence, digital products supplied by Vantage3DLab are licensed to the purchaser for personal, non-commercial use only.
Under the default personal-use licence, you may use the file to produce physical items for your own personal use.
You may not, unless expressly permitted by a different licence:
-
sell physical items produced from the file;
-
use the file for commercial manufacturing;
-
redistribute the digital file;
-
resell or sublicense it;
-
upload it to a file-sharing or model-sharing service;
-
provide it to another person for their independent use; or
-
modify the file and redistribute or sell the modified version.
Where a product includes a commercial licence, the specific commercial-use terms stated with that product take precedence over the default licence above.
15. Digital-product compatibility
You are responsible for ensuring that you have suitable software, equipment or services to use a digital product where the relevant requirements are clearly stated before purchase.
However, this does not affect your statutory rights where digital content is faulty, materially not as described, or does not meet applicable legal requirements.
16. Immediate digital delivery and cancellation
Digital downloads are subject to specific cancellation rules.
Where you request access to downloadable digital content during the normal statutory cancellation period, we will require your express consent for supply to begin immediately and your acknowledgement that your right to cancel will be lost once supply of the digital content begins, where required by law.
The checkout or digital-delivery process must obtain this consent before immediate supply.
This does not affect your statutory remedies where digital content is faulty, materially not as described or otherwise does not conform to applicable consumer law.
17. Ready-made physical goods and cancellation
For ordinary ready-made, non-personalised physical products purchased online, consumers normally have the right to cancel without giving a reason by notifying us within 14 days after receiving the goods.
After notifying us of cancellation, the goods must normally be returned within a further 14 days.
Detailed conditions, return instructions and refund arrangements are set out in our Return and Refund Policy.
This change-of-mind right does not apply in the same way to genuinely personalised or custom-made goods as explained above.
18. Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods
Nothing in these Terms restricts your statutory rights.
If a physical product is faulty, materially not as described, damaged in transit or otherwise does not conform to your legal rights, please contact us at hello@vantage3dlab.com with your order details and, where useful, photographs showing the issue.
The appropriate remedy will depend on the circumstances and your applicable statutory rights.
This may include repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
19. Returns and refunds
Our Return and Refund Policy provides further information concerning:
-
change-of-mind returns for eligible products;
-
bespoke and personalised goods;
-
damaged or faulty products;
-
return delivery;
-
refunds; and
-
digital products.
The Return and Refund Policy forms part of these Terms where applicable to your order.
20. Shipping and delivery
Dispatch times, delivery services, packaging, international deliveries, duties and related information are set out in our Shipping Policy.
For commissions and custom work, the estimated production and delivery schedule may instead be stated in the individual quotation.
Unless a different delivery period has been agreed, goods will be supplied within the period required by applicable consumer law.
21. Hand finishing and normal variation
Many finished Vantage3DLab objects involve physical preparation and individually applied surface treatments.
Photographs and approved visual references are used to communicate the intended appearance, but minor differences in:
-
patina;
-
colour tone;
-
metallic effect;
-
texture;
-
brush or surface character; and
-
small production details
may occur naturally between individually finished pieces.
Such normal variation does not affect your rights where the product is materially different from what was agreed or is otherwise faulty.
22. Availability and unique pieces
Some finished Vantage3DLab objects may be available as individual finished pieces rather than continuously stocked products.
Availability shown on the website is subject to the piece remaining unsold.
If two orders are placed for the same unique physical piece because of an inventory or technical error, only the order that can be fulfilled will be accepted and any payment taken for an order that cannot be supplied will be refunded.
We do not use a statement that a piece is unique or individually finished to remove any statutory rights that would otherwise apply.
23. Website content and intellectual property
The Vantage3DLab name, branding, original product photography, website copy, original designs, graphics and other original website material may be protected by copyright, trade mark, design rights or other intellectual-property rights.
You may access and use the website for normal browsing and purchasing purposes.
You may not commercially reproduce, republish, distribute or exploit protected Vantage3DLab website content without permission.
Third-party designs, names, trademarks or other material remain the property of their respective rights holders.
24. Acceptable use of the website
You must not deliberately misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software or use the website for unlawful purposes.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, customers or our services.
25. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing excludes or limits liability for:
-
death or personal injury caused by negligence;
-
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
-
faulty goods or digital content where liability cannot lawfully be excluded;
-
goods that are materially not as described; or
-
any other consumer right or liability that cannot legally be restricted.
If you are purchasing as a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
Unless expressly agreed for a particular project, products sold as decorative or creative objects must not be relied upon for structural, safety-critical, medical, engineering or other regulated uses.
26. Events outside reasonable control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, provided that we take reasonable steps to reduce the effect on you and resume performance where reasonably possible.
Where such an event materially prevents us from fulfilling an order or project, we will contact you and explain the available options.
This section does not remove any statutory rights you may have relating to delayed or undelivered goods or services.
27. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our products, services, business practices or applicable requirements.
The version applicable to an order or agreed project will normally be the version in effect when that contract was entered into.
A later change to these Terms will not retrospectively alter an existing contract unless the change is agreed or required by law.
28. Governing law
These Terms and contracts entered into through Vantage3DLab are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections that apply under the law of your country or region.
Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from exercising any right to bring proceedings in a court that applicable consumer law permits.
